For me, Carnival Tourism is another thing to demonstrate that culture attracts tourism. Carnival is music, decorated parade floats, street parties, dancers, singers, costumes, masks, … Carnival is a recognized festival worldwide moreover is an old pagan tradition celebrated between February and March. Historically talking, Carnival fest was celebrated at the end of winter in order to celebrate spring arrival and fertility renewal and it was a rite which, at the same time was, the first opportunity to eat well after winter.

With this, it is seen that carnival is not just a time to party, is more than that is also a time to express that attracts both tourists and locals alike every year. As I have seen many people travelling to Brazil in order to live their “Carnival moment”, here I will talk about some other destinations that you can visit in Europe, in order to have a “Carnival Experience” :

1. SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE (Spain). This carnival is plenty of daily parades, concerts and dances and it is a have to know that this lively festival begins with the unveiling of all the candidates for the tittle of “The Queen of the Carnival” and ends with the final crowned of the winner. The “Sábado de Piñata” and the 24-hour party are a must, in those, the largest crowds gather in Santa Cruz and, the second one is a party that eds with the burning and burial of an enormous papier-mâché sardine. 2. CÁDIZ (Spain). Cádiz Carnival is the oldest Carnival celebration of Spain originated from the commercial relationship that Spain and Venice had in the 16th century. In this destination, you will find a lot of humor and sarcastic undertones. Fancy costumes (called tipos), groups of musicians performing on streets and chirigotas stand out.
